Business Line This dimension is used to categorise information reported according to specified business lines. Agency Services Information reported relates to activities occurring within the agency services business line. This may include business lines titled, custody, corporate agency and corporate trust. Examples of business activities include, escrow, depository receipts, securities lending (customers) and corporate actions, issuer and paying agent activity. Asset Management Information reported relates to activities occurring within the asset management business line. This may include business lines titled, discretionary or non-discretionary funds management. Examples of business activities include, pooled, segregated, retail, institutional, closed and open discretionary/non-discretionary funds management and private equity. Commercial Banking Information reported relates to activities occurring within the commercial banking business line. Examples of business activities include, commercial lending and deposit-taking, project finance, real estate, export finance, trade finance, factoring, leasing, lending, guarantees and bills of exchange. Corporate Finance Information reported relates to activities occurring within the corporate finance business line. This may include business lines titled, corporate finance, municipal/government finance, merchant banking and advisory services. Examples of business activities include, mergers and acquisitions, underwriting, privatisations, securitisation, research, syndications, initial public offerings, secondary private placements, holdings of debt (government, high yield) and equity. Other Business Line Information reported relates to activities occurring within any business line other than the following: - trading and sales; - corporate finance; - retail banking; - commercial banking; - payment and settlement; - agency services; - asset management; or - retail brokerage. Payment And Settlement Information reported relates to activities occurring within the payment and settlement business line. Examples of business activities include, payments and collections, funds transfer, clearing and settlement. This does not include payment and settlements relating to an entities own activities. Retail Banking Information reported relates to activities occurring within the retail banking business line. This may include business lines titled, retail banking, private banking and card services. Examples of business activities include: - retail lending and deposit-taking, banking services, trust and estate management; - private lending and deposit-taking, banking services, trust and estate management and investment advice; and - merchant, commercial and corporate cards. Retail Brokerage Information reported relates to activities occurring within the retail brokerage business line. This may include business lines titled, discretionary or non-discretionary funds management. Examples of business activities include, execution and full service brokerage services. Trading And Sales Information reported relates to activities occurring within the trading and sales business line. This may include business lines titled, sales, market making, proprietary positions and treasury. Examples of business activities include, fixed income, equity, foreign exchange, commodities, credit trading, funding, lending and repurchase agreements and brokerage (other than retail brokerage).
