Commodity Type Dimension This dimension categorises the reported data according to the type of commodity contract. Hard Commodities The information reported is in relation to contracts classified as hard commodities; that is; resources mined such as oil and gas. Emerging Commodities The information reported is in relation to contracts classified as emerging commodities; that is; products for which the market is developing but not yet mature. Such as wind and solar power and greenhouse gas offsets. Metal Commodities Non Precious The information reported is in relation to contracts classified as industrial metal such as copper, aluminium, lead, zinc etc. These are neither as rare nor as valuable as precious metal contracts. Metal Commodities Precious The information reported is in relation to contracts classified as metals that are considered to be rare and/or have a high economic value. Precious metals may include, but are not limited to: gold, silver, platinum, iridium, rhodium and palladium.
